Overnight oats are a simple make-ahead breakfast. Mix them in the evening, and they're ready to eat in the morning — no cooking needed.

Basic recipe (1 serving)

  • ½ cup (45 g) rolled oats
  • ½ cup (120 ml) milk (any kind)
  • ¼ cup (60 g) yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds (optional)
  • Honey or maple syrup to taste

Method

  1. Mix everything in a jar or container.
  2. Cover and refrigerate overnight (at least 4 hours).
  3. Stir in the morning, add toppings and enjoy cold or warmed.
Thicker or thinner?Add more milk for a looser texture, or less for a thicker, pudding-like result.
